Bohai University, founded in February 1950, is a comprehensive university sponsored by the Liaoning Provincial Government and located in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, a famous historical and cultural city on the shore of the Bohai Sea. The university covers an area of more than 2250 Chinese mu, with a total building area of 600,000 square meters. The university has 20 secondary colleges covering the disciplines of economics, law, education, literature, history, philosophy, science, engineering, agriculture, management and arts.
I.Admission Category and Major
1. Admission category: Master’s degree

II. Eligibility
1. Non-Chinese citizens, physically and mentally healthy.
2. To be eligible, applicants must be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs .
3. Applicants who apply for Chinese-taught programs must have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 4 and reached 180 points.
4. Applicants who apply for English-taught programs must have an English level of IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 or have the ability to use English to complete the study and research tasks of the program.
III. Enrollment
5 students. The university can recommend 5 applicants to the China Scholarship Council, and the specific number of students to be enrolled shall be subject to the review and approval of the China Scholarship Council.
IV. Application Documents
1. Copy of Passport Home Page. The passport should be valid later than September 2025.
2. ID Photo(electronic) with white background.
3. Notarized highest diploma. Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
4. Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department. They can be in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English.
5. Language qualification certificates. Applicants who apply for Chinese-taught programs must provide a valid HSK Level 4 (180 points) or above score report. Applicants who apply for English-taught programs must provide a copy of TOEFL or IELTS score report or other official proof of English proficiency (applicants whose official language is English are exempted from providing such proof).
6. A study plan proposal in China. The study plan should be submitted in Chinese/English(more than 1500 words).
7. Recommendation letters. Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. (The letters of recommendation must be provided by the applicant’s former lecturing professor or associate professor and must be stamped by applicant’s department.)
8. A copy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese health and quarantine authorities and must be completed in English. The examination result is valid for 6 months. (Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.)
9. Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
10. Other materials. Applicants may provide published papers, award certificates, etc. as supporting materials.
V. Application Procedure
1. Applicants shall send the documents in "IV. Application Documents" to the email address: bohaiuni@163.com by January 30th, 2025.
2. The College of International Education of Bohai University is responsible for reviewing the application documents and will notify the qualified applicants to attend the online interview organized by the College of International Education of the University before March 1st.
3. Applicants who have received the Pre-admission Letter issued by the College of International Education of the university shall fill in the application information and submit the application documents through the "Online Application System for Studying in China" (www.campuschina.org) of the China Scholarship Council within the time specified by the university, and then download the "Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship" automatically generated by the system after submission. Please send the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship to bohaiuni@163.com.
4. The final admission result will be notified to the applicants after the approval by the China Scholarship Council.
